Eckstein Middle School
Currently, our ministry team at Eckstein includes one full-time staff, four student interns, and three volunteers. This team is a collaboration of YFC and Young Life leaders who work together at the school. These leaders spend their time coaching sports (soccer, ultimate frisbee, and basketball) and volunteering in homework clubs as tutors, chaperoning after-school programs, and monitoring lunches. Through these opportunities, our leaders get to be positive, Christ-like role models and mentors in the lives of the students they interact with. Moreover, our team at Eckstein also leads an after-school Club on Fridays at 7pm. At this Christian outreach-oriented club, students and leaders play tons of fun games and also hear a talk, which is a non-threatening presentation of the Gospel and Jesus. Club is a safe place where students (Christian or not) can have fun without negative peer-pressure and also talk about who God really is and how He loves them.
Some dates to remember for Club in 2010 are January 22nd, February 12th, March 5th, March 12th, April 9th, April 23rd, May 7th, May 21st, and June 4th. Club is held in the cafeteria and runs from 7pm-8:30pm. On February 17th there will also be a special event at a location TBD.
The winter camp season has arrived and so we will be taking students to our own YFC winter camp at Buck Creek (Crystal Mt.) February 26-28.

Whitman Middle School
Over in NW Seattle, we have a great ministry team assembled at Whitman. This team is made up of two YFC interns and seven volunteers. Like at Eckstein, our team at Whitman is made up of a collaboration of YFC and Young Life leaders, who together reach students with the healing message of the Gospel. They spend their time coaching sports, leading and volunteering in after-school clubs (i.e. climbing club and homework clubs), helping out at the Wildcat Den, and leading an after-school Christian club. Club is an outreach-oriented event where fun, games, and a message about God are combined to create a welcoming, Christ-sharing environment for all students. Through these activities, our leaders get to be Christ-like role models and mentors in the lives of students at Whitman.
Some dates to remember for Club at Whitman are November 20th and December 4th. All clubs at Whitman are held in the cafeteria and start at 7pm, while finishing around 8:30pm.
